Donald Martin Obituary

Donald Lee "Don" Martin, born May 12, 1936, in Milesburg, Pennsylvania. Don served his country in the Air Force and spent his lifetime charting the roads of America as a dedicated long-haul truck driver. His journey came to a peaceful end on March 25, 2024, in Citrus Heights, CA, at the age of 87.

Don was the perfect example of a traditional family man, tirelessly providing, nurturing, and serving as an unwavering pillar of support and strength to his loved ones. His marriage to his beloved wife Ruby spanned a remarkable 70 years—an exemplary voyage of enduring love and companionship.

His commitment to family was rivalled only by his work ethic. After honorably completing his service in the Air Force, Don transitioned to a career on the open road, with Ruby ever-present by his side as they together navigated the many miles and milestones of life.

Don found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life: motorcycle rides with the wind as his companion, family cycling along the trails of the American River, and countless weekend spent boating on the waters of Folsom Lake.

Left to honor Don and remember his love are his sons, Gary, Jeff, and Larry; daughters-in-law, Cookie, Linda, and Margie; grandchildren Byron, April, Gary, Summer, Cherie, Jennifer, Misty, Cody, and Sarah; as well as 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. And of course his “buddy” his dog Bella. He now joins his treasured wife Ruby, brother Bob Lettermen, and mother Martha Lettermen in eternal rest.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully commemorated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced.

Don's memory will be carried in the hearts of those he touched, a legacy of love, devotion, and tireless dedication to his family.
